Paired pages improve training
To insure quick learning, we've organized the information in this
book in what we call a "paired pages" arrangement.
Each right-hand page is a figure, or illustration, that gives you summary
information and examples (including sample code) for crucial DB2 skills.
As author Curtis Garvin puts it, "All the material you would have marked
in the text with a highlighter has been pulled out and put in the figures."
That means you can easily page through and pick up new information. And
you can easily find the details you need later on, when you're coding
your own programs.
On each left-hand page, there's text that explains the code in the
figure or gives you the extra perspective that helps you put new DB2 skills
to work. One major advantage to this: There's no page flipping as you
follow the DB2 examples while reading the textthe code and its explanation
are always side by side. That's something that our customers have always
asked for but that was impossible to do before we hit on this way of presenting
information. You're going to like it!
