What software you need
To develop web pages, you need:
- a text editor (we recommend Aptana Studio 3)
- multiple web browsers, like Mozilla

and Google's Chrome
Although you can use any text editor with this book,
a text editor that includes syntax coloring, auto-completion, and error marking will help you develop applications more quickly and
with fewer errors. That's why we recommend Aptana Studio 3. It's available for free, it can be used for entering HTML and CSS (and JavaScript,
too), and it runs on both Windows and Mac OS.
As for web browsers, you need to test your web pages thoroughly with
all the browsers that your site visitors use regularly. In this book, we recommend that, at the least, you test Firefox and Internet Explorer on Windows systems and Firefox and Safari on Mac systems.
