Who this book is for
Our ASP.NET 2.0 Upgrader's Guide assumes that you
already know how to develop web applications with ASP.NET
1.0 or 1.1. How well? For best results, you should at least
know the basics of HTML, how to use session state in a multi-page
application, how to use the validation controls,
and how to create and use business classes with Visual Basic .NET.
If you lack these skills, we recommend that you get
our comprehensive ASP.NET 2.0 book, Murach's
ASP.NET 2.0 Web Programming with VB 2005, instead
of this one. It teaches ASP.NET 2.0 web programming
from scratch. As a result, it covers everything that's
in this Upgrader's Guide, but it also covers
ASP.NET 1.x features and techniques that haven't changed
in 2.0.
