Who this book is for
This book is for COBOL programmers who haven't mastered VSAM file
handling. That includes experienced programmers who have never worked on
IBM mainframes so they don't have any VSAM experience. It includes
less experienced programmers who want to improve their VSAM skills. And
it includes novice programmers who haven't learned how to write COBOL
programs that process indexed or relative files.
The only assumption this book makes is that you know how to write batch
COBOL programs that process sequential files. If you need basic COBOL training,
please see our book, Murach's
Mainframe COBOL.
