Murach's ADO.NET 3.5, LINQ,
and the Entity Framework with VB 2008
This book is designed to teach .NET 3.5 database programming to anyone
who has the core skills covered in Murach's
Visual Basic.
The first 10 chapters allow you to present a solid course in professional database programming techniques. First, your students will learn how to develop database applications using data sources and other ADO.NET features for Rapid Application Development. Then, they'll learn how to write their own ADO.NET code to build 3-layer applications...the approach they'll use for production applications on the job.
If you have time to present more than that, you can cover some of the material in the last 10 chapters on LINQ and the Entity Framework. These chapters are designed to be modular, so you can pick and choose among them according to your curriculum design.
Training aids in the book itself: Practice exercises for chapters 3-14 and 16-19
Training aids available in our Downloads section: Source code and data for the book applications (including those that are used as starting points for the exercises)
