Murach's SQL Server 2005 for Developers
This is one of the few SQL Server books I've ever seen that's written for developers instead of DBAs. Yet it covers information that makes any developer more valuable on the job. In fact, we've had developers with years of SQL experience tell us that they didn't realize all they were missing out on until they read our book.
This latest edition covers a few topics that weren't in the the first edition (Murach's SQL
for SQL Server). For example, it covers the 2005 Management Studio (which has replaced the old
Enterprise Manager), enhanced security features,
and the 2005 XML integration and CLR integration features
that developers are eager to know more about.
What's unchanged is the solid SQL training that developers
will apply on the job every day. And although this book
works best for developers who are using Microsoft SQL
Server, you can also use it to teach a general SQL course.
In fact, the course topics are put together so logically
that I think you'll be delighted at how easily you can
adapt the material to your needs.
Training aids available in our Downloads section: Source code for all the coding examples in the book, including both C# and Visual Basic code for the examples in the CLR integration section
Instructor's CD
The Instructor's CD for this book includes these materials:
- Instructional objectives by chapter
- PowerPoint slides for classroom presentations
- A question bank in both RTF and ExamView formats (though we can provide it in WebCT or Blackboard format as well)
- Practice exercises with test databases, and exercise solutions
- Source code and databases for all the examples in the book (for the CLR integration examples, we provide Visual Basic code as well as the C# code shown in the book)
For a detailed look at these materials and how you can use them in your
course, please view
the Instructor's Summary that we've prepared (it's
a PDF document). Then, if you like what you see, you
can get the Instructor's CD. For more information, just
