Although chapter 2 of Murach’s Structured COBOL
shows you how to use Micro Focus Personal COBOL on your
own PC, that product is no longer available. It has
been replaced by a software package called Net Express.
Net Express is a terrific aid to self-training in COBOL.
If you decide to use it, you can download
two PDF documents that we’ve developed to help
you out:
- A tutorial that shows you how to edit, compile,
test, and debug COBOL programs with Net Express (this
replaces the information in chapter 2 of Structured
COBOL)
- A reworked version
of the exercises in the book with
specific instructions for using Net Express to do them
